Reduced $10,000! This two bedroom home has so much potential. The house was recently remodeled and has the structure to build a second floor. Next to it, there is a partially built commercial space and four rooms also suitable to be converted into suites. The lot is large (660 meters squared or 7,105 square feet) enough to have a pool, another home or any project that you may desire. The town is the oldest in the peninsula of Santa Elena. It existed from before the Spanish conquest. Every May 29th the parish anniversary party is celebrated. The history of Chanduy is tied to fishing. In the streets you can see vans that leave the beach loaded with seafood and buses that arrive with tourists. In the port, dozens of fishermen and merchants buy and sell marine products. The small boats arrive loaded with fish. "Come, buy cheap fresh fish," shouts Venancio Borbor, 58 years old. Before arriving at this place, located 111 km from Guayaquil, you must cross villages such as Pechiche and Manantial from where the sea is heard far away.

More about this property

Chanduy is located on the shores of the ocean. It has its own port joined by two bridges and two embankments that pass over two small estuaries. Already on its beach you can see a modern tourist destination that opened on February 4th last year. The site has pergolas, a food court and sanitary batteries to give more comfort to visitors. Sara Rios, a native of Guayaquil, tells that she has visited the resort for more than 20 years. "The change is noticeable. Two decades ago Chanduy stood out as a fishing port and nothing else. Its beach did not have promotion and the town did not lend the comforts that a tourist requires. Now I see that they have places to stay and have a tourist stop where they offer their seafood cuisine and have showers and bathrooms. The historic museum, another attraction that is near Chanduy, is the Royal High Archaeological Museum, located on the main road at the entrance to the Royal Commune. There you can see archaeological remains in ceramics and terracotta....also buildings and references of ways of life and customs of yesteryear. The houses of wood and the way of cooking food is what stands out in the homes. In the peaceful village there is a remodeled park and the church of San Agustin, which in 1734 was built of guayacan and laurel, but which in 1990 was replaced by a modern concrete structure. In the interior of the temple the images of San Agustin, the Virgin of the Mercedes and the Risen Christ are venerated. Vicente Valle Orrala, a fisherman of 62 years, says that in Chanduy the inhabitants have always been dedicated to fishing. "From the age of eight, our parents and grandparents taught us the trade. We are fishermen by inheritance, but since the late eighties, 10% of the population has been dedicated to construction, and in the last decade, tourism. The political leaders pointed to the visitors and they are doing well. Many people from Guayaquil and other cities visit us. We are no longer the modest fishing village. There are already people who want to visit us." The beach of Chanduy is about 800 meters long. It has thick gray sand. Although it is not a place to surf, its waves are more than two meters high. "That has generated sports lovers to visit the town frequently," says Roberto Yagual, a 50-year-old Chanduyense dedicated to masonry. A good gastronomy...the seafood that is offered in Chanduy are among the main attractions. The characteristic of the town is the extraction of the michulla from the Chanduy estuary, which is nothing more than a mollusc that serves for the elaboration of a ceviche to which aphrodisiac powers and excellent flavor are attributed. In addition, the roasted lisa accompanied by mature, sancocho and stewed fish is offered. Daysy Beltran, who lives in Manta, assures that the michulla is exquisite and that he traveled to Chanduy on the last holiday at the recommendation of his sisters. "I think the parish has great potential in its people. I have seen how they cater to tourists. They have invested in the construction of the highway and the tourist parador ".
